A post shared by Celina Jaitly (@celinajaitlyofficial)

Celina posted on Instagram on the occasion of Mother’s Day, saying she sends messages to her sons every day but has been blocked on WhatsApp and phone calls.

In her post, she wrote directly: “Despite an undertaking in front of the honourable court in Austria, the Austrian laws are being manipulated by my husband to stop my children from having any contact with me.”

She also said that the photograph used in the post was taken last year, and that the children have since been moved to an undisclosed location, even though she holds joint custody.

Allegations of brainwashing and interference

Celina did not stop at the custody issue. She alleged repeated interference in her children’s contact with her, including what she described as exposure to selective media narratives, obstruction of regular communication, and brainwashing and intimidation to make the children say things against her.

She described herself as a mother who had done nothing but care for her sons since birth, moving from one country to another to support the career of their father.

Background: Marriage and children

Celina married Peter in 2010. The couple had twins Winston and Viraaj in 2012. In 2017, she gave birth to a second set of twins, Arthur and Shamsher, but Shamsher died due to a heart condition. The couple has three living sons.

Divorce filed in November 2025

Celina filed for divorce from Peter in November 2025, accusing him of domestic violence and severe abuse. She sought Rs 50 crore in compensation and Rs 10 lakh monthly in maintenance.

Court documents show she filed the case under Section 23 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, seeking interim and ex parte relief. She also alleged that her husband prohibited her from working on various pretexts, and pressured her to transfer ownership of her Mumbai residence to his name while she was going through severe depression after the death of her newborn child and both her parents within a few months.

Peter Haag, however, claimed that he had filed for divorce first in Austria, at the court where the couple’s civil marriage was registered, before Celina filed her domestic violence case in Mumbai.

Celina’s lawyer confirmed that Haag did file for divorce in Austria in August 2025. The lawyer also said Celina was misled and manipulated during those proceedings, was not fluent in the local language, and was denied access to legal counsel, leaving her helpless in a foreign legal system.

FIR and look out circular

Mumbai Police registered an FIR against Peter Haag at the Versova Police Station based on Celina’s complaint. The FIR was filed under Sections 85, 115(2), 351(2), 352 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 in connection with allegations of cruelty, physical harm, criminal intimidation, sustained harassment.

A Look Out Circular was also issued against Haag due to his alleged non-cooperation with ongoing investigation.
